Hypnotherapy

Your Transformation

Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy, also called clinical hypnotherapy, involves the use of hypnosis—a state of deep focus and heightened suggestibility—to facilitate therapeutic change.

During hypnosis, there is an observed enhanced capacity for people to respond to suggestions. In that state, it's often easier to work with thoughts, habits, and reactions that feel stuck when you're wide awake and reasoning your way through them.

You remain fully aware and in control throughout. It isn't about losing consciousness or being made to do anything — it's a guided, collaborative process.

Many people use hypnotherapy to work with anxiety, low confidence, phobias, sleep difficulties, and inner conflict — where part of you wants one thing and another part pulls the opposite way. It can also support general relaxation for those simply curious about what hypnosis feels like.

Every session starts with your words, your goals, and what change would actually look like for you. From there, we build the right approach together — whether that's a single session or a longer package of support.

I'm not a medically qualified professional, and hypnotherapy isn't a substitute for medical advice or treatment.

Hypnotherapy Benefits

  • A deeply relaxed state that many people find valuable in itself, alongside working on their goal.

  • A way of working with the subconscious mind, which talking therapies alone don't always reach.

  • A collaborative process tailored to your own words and goals, not a generic script.

  • An approach that can support a wide range of areas — confidence, sleep, phobias, inner conflict — without medical claims attached to any of them.

How I Can Support You

Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I lose control?

No. You remain fully aware throughout and can hear everything going on around you. Hypnotherapy is a collaborative process — you're not "under my control" at any point, and you can bring yourself out of the relaxed state whenever you choose.

What does it actually feel like?

Most people describe it as similar to the drowsy state just before falling asleep, or the feeling of being completely absorbed in a good book or film — relaxed, but still present and aware.

Can I get "stuck" in hypnosis?

No. It isn't possible to get stuck. If a session ended unexpectedly — for example, a fire alarm went off — you'd simply open your eyes and realise you need to leave the building. If you are concerned about the deepness of hypnosis, you will always follow my voice and listen to me count you out and ensure you are fully alert and ready to get on with the rest of your day.

Will you make me do or say something I don't want to?

No. This isn't stage hypnosis. You won't do or say anything that goes against your values or what you're not comfortable with.

How many sessions will I need?

This depends entirely on you and what you're working on. Some people find one or two sessions enough; others prefer a longer block of support. We'll discuss this together, and you'll never be pushed into a package that doesn't suit you.

Is hypnotherapy right for everyone?

Not always — and I'll always be honest with you if I think another form of support or another practitioner would be a better fit. I'm not a medically qualified professional, so I don't diagnose or treat medical conditions, and hypnotherapy isn't a replacement for medical advice or treatment.

What if I've tried therapy before and it hasn't worked?

That's a common starting point for many people who come to hypnotherapy. It works differently from talking therapies — it works with the subconscious mind rather than relying solely on conscious discussion — which is often why people find it helpful even after other approaches haven't landed.
